summer window displays

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

Oh yeah oh yeah - we're in love with our new window displays! We wanted something graphic (and, honestly, a bit less time-consuming) to follow up our major spring floral displays so a bunch of painted cones was the natural choice. They're fun, playful and perfect for the vibe we're going for this summer.

Alicia and I have had this idea twirling around in our brains since the fall (when you work retail, you're always thinking at least 3 months ahead) but really, we owe this display to Cristina and Austen. Those girls took the basic idea we had and made it into a reality better than anything we'd expected. We wouldn't be the store we are now if it weren't for our forage girls. Maybe if we ask nicely, Cristina will do a blog post on how to create these cones (they'd be super cute as decoration for a party!).

The new displays went up on Saturday and will be up through the first week in September.

Cheers!

How To Wear: Florals + Bold Colors

Monday, May 27, 2013

Florals have been EVERYWHERE lately, so here a three easy ways to incorporate them in your wardrobe using clothes that are currently for sale at the shop.

1. Floral Dress : alone a floral dress can sometimes be a bit too much, but throw on a denim jacket and a statement bag and you're done!

2. Floral Top : A floral top is a statement in itself, so keep the rest of the outfit simple.  Here we just paired it with a black skirt.

3. Floral Skirt : Again like the floral top, keep it simple.  Just throw on a white top and a bold bag and you're ready!

Incorporating bold colors is a great way to update your wardrobe. Above are two ways to add a bit of color using clothes currently at the shop.

1. Color on Color : It might be a bit of a statement, but pairing a brightly colored skirt with a solid colored tee can be extremely flattering.

2. A Touch of Color : A brightly colored bag is probably the easiest and most cost efficient way to add some color to your wardrobe.

Introducing the FORAGE girls: Cristina

Though I've only been officially working at the shop for a short amount of time, I can't express just how much I love my job!  It's a pleasure to get to know all of our wonderful customers each time I work, and hopefully you'll get to know me a little bit better with this survey.

Bag: American Apparel Cotton Clutch

Ever wonder what's inside a FORAGE girl's bag? Well here it is...

1. Iphone:  I rarely am without it, and spend a little too much accessorizing it.  Picture above is my Rabito Iphone case in pink.  The case is adorable and super handy!  It's fluffy tail isn't just for looks, but it acts like a stand as well.

2. Hair Tie:  I think it's always important to have hair ties on hand, you never know when you may need to tie your hair up into a quick top knot.

3. Tom Ford Sunnies:  I've had these since they came out and they're still my all time fav sunnies since they go with every outfit.

4. Korres Lip Butter in Plum:  If you haven't tried this stuff, you definitely should.  It gives your lips a fair amount of color while moisturizing your lips.

5. Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray:  This stuff is amazing!  Just spray a couple of pumps in your hair and you suddenly have tousled beach hair.  It also provides some volume which is great for those with hair on the thinner side.

6. Solid perfume:  I purchased this solid perfume at Anthro not too long ago and I love it! It smells just like honey.

7.  Missoni for Target Hair Pins:  It's always a good idea to keep hair pins in your bag, just in case and these are so cute!

8. Hand Sanitizer: Predictable I know, but it's totally a necessity.
