Happy Hour at FORAGE: grapefruit margarita
Friday, July 26, 2013
Y'all, let's talk about this weather for a hot second. What did we do to deserve this luxury, this respite from the usual July heat? Virginia, we had some good karma stored up somewhere and we're now reaping those rewards. Holla!
We should most certainly celebrate with a margarita. Here's a widely known fact about me (and my friends): we love a margarita. Love em. I order them when I'm out and I make them at home on the reg. Lately we've been using Espolon Tequila at home after seeing it behind the bar at Kybecca (I'm a sucker for a cool label) and dig it. This is a simple one to make at home.
Grapefruit margarita
(makes 2)
2 large ruby red grapefruits
1/4 cup simple syrup
2 limes
splash of lemonade
3 oz tequila
salt
Combine the juice of the grapefruits and limes into a pitcher with the rest of the ingredients. Stir well. Pour over ice into chilled, salted rim glasses (if that's howya like to mess w/a marg). Enjoy!
